The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why MHFA?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a participant you will gain improved knowledge of mental illnesses and their interventions, knowledge of appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with a mental health problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What are the course content?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SMHFA course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing any of the following mental health problems, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or mental health crises:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developing mental health problems:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depression<br>Anxiety<br>Psychosis Suicide and non-suicidal self-harm<br>Eating Disorder<br>Substance abuse<br>Mental Health Crisis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Panic Attack<br>Severe Psychotic States<br>Aggressive Behaviours<br>Severe effects from Drug use<br>Severe effects from Alcohol Use<br><br>Can I attend?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any interested adult can attend, there are no prerequisites for this course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How do I sign up for a course?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Upcoming courses will be listed on our website and social media, alternatively you may email us at admin@mmha.org.my or call us at 03-7782 5499 to book a course for your workplace or community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\u2019s next?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider!
